DIY Guitar Setup: Intonation, Action Height & Truss Rod Adjustment

1. Adjusting Truss Rod Neck Relief

A slight forward bow (neck relief) prevents fret buzz. Turn the truss rod nut 1/4 turn clockwise to reduce neck relief or counter-clockwise to add bow.

2. Setting Saddle Intonation

Compare the open string note pitch with the 12th fret harmonic and 12th fret fretted note. If 12th fret fretted note is sharp, move bridge saddle backward!
