1. Foot 'Chick' & Foot Splash Technique
Pressing the hi-hat pedal firmly produces a crisp 'chick' sound on off-beats. Striking the pedal and releasing immediately produces a ringing 'splash' sound!
2. Open-Close 'Barking' Accents
Strike the hi-hat cymbals with the shoulder of your stick while lifting your foot pedal slightly, then clamp the pedal closed instantly on the next beat for an energetic 'bark'!
