How to Restring Your Guitar Step-by-Step: Acoustic & Electric

When Should You Change Your Strings?

If your guitar strings look tarnished, sound dull/flat, or break tuning frequently, it's time for fresh strings. Active players should restring every 4 to 6 weeks.

Step-by-Step Restringing Process

1. Slacken tuning pegs. 2. Remove bridge pins carefully. 3. Thread new string leaving 2 inches of slack for 3 neat post wraps. 4. Stretch strings gently to lock in tuning stability.
