Choosing the Right Guitar String Gauge
String gauge refers to the thickness of the strings in thousandths of an inch:
- Extra Light / Light (9-42 Electric / 10-47 Acoustic): Easier to press down and bend notes, ideal for complete beginners building finger strength.
- Regular Light (10-46 Electric / 12-53 Acoustic): The industry standard balance between warm acoustic tone, tuning stability, and comfortable playability.
Guitar Pick Thickness & Material
