Microphone Polar Patterns: Cardioid vs Supercardioid vs Omni for Singers

1. Cardioid vs Supercardioid Polar Patterns

Cardioid (Heart-Shaped): Rejects sound from directly behind the mic (180° dead spot). Best for standard stage monitor setups!
Supercardioid: Narrower front pickup cone with maximum side rejection (125° dead spot), ideal for noisy stages.

2. Harnessing the Proximity Effect

Singing extremely close to a directional mic boosts low bass frequencies, adding warmth to soft ballad verses!
